Hi Ian

Just wanted to say a big Thank You for last Sunday's kayak adventure. It was our first time trying this, and won't be the last. Despite being an older group (2 of the group in their 70's and others in our 50's) with your expertise and knowledge you made it a stress free and thoroughly enjoyable experience for us all. Your detailed knowledge about the river was amazing, and we were able to navigate without problems, looked out for the things you suggested we might see, and found the equipment easy to use and felt confident to relax and enjoy our morning. We gained confidence from your safety plan, and it was heartening to know you were available if we got into trouble (we didn't!!). Our visitors from the UK thought this was the highlight of their trip - Thank you again for making it possible. 

We look forward to getting out on the river again soon,

We had a lovely relaxing time.  We took advantage of the romantic package.  The breakfast and picnic hampers were very generous.  We didn't have to buy any food for the weekend.
The early morning kayak to spot platypus was a great start to the morning.

Thanks for providing the rustic cabin in Bear Woods.  We loved the place, very cosy. Like an adults cubby house. We really enjoyed the paddle along Yabba Ck as well.

Guest Comments on a 2 night stay - 14/10/14

We stayed for 2 nights.  On arrival was warmly greeted by Ian.  Settled in and took in the view of the property.

Built a fire in the pit, had drinks played guitar & sang songs.  Heated the outdoor bathtub - a very unique experience under the starts.  We absolutely enjoyed the fire glow and outdoor surrounds of the bathtub.

Cooked steaks & got the salad ready, then wrapped potatoes in foil & into the fire pit - Nothing better than fire cooked jacked potatoes.

Played more guitar – sang songs, sat outdoors till late – Loved it!!

Next Morning:

Went into town – looked around - cooked breakfast – played guitar, sang songs – “Bandia” came to visit and sang along.

Ian took us Kayaking.  We had little experience but found we were completely comfortable in the creek by ourselves.

Stopped off for a picnic lunch then had kayak races.  Went for a swim and the day was coming to an end.

Once back at Bear Woods we went for a bush walk.  Put on a curry and sat by the fire and had a drink & listened to the sounds of the bush.  Played guitar sang songs, Of course had a delightful outdoor “tub” experience and finally went to bed.

The stay was fantastic just what we needed to relax.

We will bring our friends & family back again.

We live at the beach so the bush is our escape.

2nd March 2014

Friday night – sitting by the fire waiting for the cooking plate to heat up.  Beautiful clear night and a Wallaby hopped up to say hello.   A friendly white chicken has been socialising this arvo, we named her ‘Henny’ J.

Saturday morning off for a paddle, Ian dropped us off and after a nice scenic (at times challenging) paddle – picked us up at the bridge with knobs on.  Extra Fun!

The end of our stay is nearly here – boo!  We have loved every minute and now hold a strong bond with two chickens.  I’ve named them Henny (white one) & Scarlet (black) love them.

Our 3^rd stay at Bear Woods – no place like it – we’ll be back.  Thanks again for sharing your piece of paradise.

Good afternoon Ian,

Just a quick email to let you know that my partner and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the bush cabin earlier in the month - its a gorgeous place you have and thank you so much for sharing it!

Our ride on saturday turned into a bit of an adventure when we took a wrong turn ;) and we got to ride a few trails at Trailblazing Bros - it was a really good day out!

Will be back again - loved it! Thanks so much :)

We had a terrific 4-night stay. Loved the solitude of the cabin. Particularly appreciated that you respected our privacy and love the bell ringing idea, if you need to visit (even though it was not required). Beautiful setting, well thought out. We will be pinching some of your ideas, particularly the bath and the steps using recycled tyres and pebbles, for our own property. Oh, and great shower! Hope we can return some day.
